Parishioner Letters of Good Standing

Unfortunately, many individuals who requests such signed statement:

• have not registered in our parish,
• have no record of any stewardship or involvement in the parish,
• is not known to anyone on the parish staff, or has moved to another area or just arrived from another area and has no record of being involved here or there.

Therefore, in order to be considered an active parishioner in good standing at St. Patrick's Cathedral and would like to receive validation of this, the following is required:

• Become involved in some parish program or activity.
• Fulfill your obligation to participate in Sunday Mass and Holy Days and either use your envelope or an online giving form so that your financial contribution may be tracked, and we may also send you a receipt for your charitable deduction.
• If you are a young adult child of parents in the parish, register yourself here, or wherever you attend Mass. 
• If you come from another parish and would like us to offer a Letter of Good Standing for you, please bring some statement from your previous parish that you were a practicing parishioner there.
• Finally, if you move, register in the parish at your new location, and notify us that you have moved.

The purpose of these Letters of Good Standing, is to show that St. Patrick's Cathedral values the example and commitment of godparents and sponsors and faithful Catholics.
 
Finally, please note that our parish registrations are used by St. Patrick's Cathedral and  the Archdiocese of New York. In no way will your information be shared with any outside organization.

The vision of our Parishioner Stewardship Program is to make it easier and more efficient for our parishioners to fulfill their offertory commitments. By doing so, we can ensure the continued success and growth of our ministry.

Our goal at St. Patrick’s Cathedral is for every parishioner to participate in this program. Your involvement is vital. Will you answer the call and lead the way for our entire community?

By streamlining the process of offertory giving, we will be able to:

• Better manage parishioner contributions
• Provide clarity on previous giving history
• Ensure consistency in giving for all parishioners
• Offer a variety of giving options for our parishioners (online payment options, recurring options weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly).
• Fulfill budgetary obligations in all ministry areas (general operations, sacramental life, music ministry, volunteer and social services).
• Get to know the areas of interest of all parishioners so that we can form and sustain lasting relationships with our community.
• Receive a 15% discount only at the 15 East 51st Street Gift Shop.
• Connect our parishioners to a full calendar of events for the liturgical year, ranging from special masses, musical concerts and special events.
• Provide volunteer opportunities for active engagement with our parish community.
• Promote best practices of stewardship and evangelization.
• Effectively connect mission with offertory giving.
