In honor of the 12th anniversary of the canonization of Saint John Paul II and the 80th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Karol Wojtyła, a father‑and‑daughter organ duo, Witold and Hannah Zalewski, present an organ concert at the cathedral visited by Pope John Paul II in 1979 and 1995.
This appearance marks the second concert at St. Patrick’s Cathedral by Witold Zalewski, Titular Organist of the Wawel Royal Cathedral and Professor at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków. His previous recital at St. Patrick’s Cathedral took place in 2007.
Saint John Paul II served as Archbishop of Kraków from 1964 to 1978, prior to his election as Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.
