St. Patrick's Cathedral holds Easter services at 50% capacity

Starting Monday, June 1st, St. Patrick's Cathedral will re-open for Prayer only. For those looking to pray inside the Cathedral, listed below will be the hours of operations for the time being. Those entering the Cathedral must follow strict COVID-19 CDC guidelines. Thank you for your understanding and patience! God bless. Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM Saturday: 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM Sunday: 11:30  AM - 3:00 PM

This past Sunday, December 8, 2019, Cesar Garcia Jr., an Usher Supervisor here at St. Patrick's Cathedral, was honored by Cardinal Dolan and Monsignor Ritchie with a recognition award for his Quick Action. On April 17, 2019 Cesar stopped a potentially dangerous situation involving gas tanks and lighter fluid. His alertness and swift action led to the apprehension by the NYPD of an emotionally disturbed individual intending to do serious harm inside the Cathedral. This award was presented with extreme gratitude to Cesar Garcia Jr. who was accompanied by his family.

At this morning’s 7 a.m. Mass, October 10th, 2019, Cardinal Dolan announced the newly appointed Auxiliary Bishops for the Archdiocese of New York, Bishop Edmund Whalen and Bishop Gerardo Colacicco. Congratulations to them both and May God bless them!

This May 21 marks five years since the public opening of the 9/11 Memorial Museum. May 25 will mark 140 years since the formal opening of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

NEW YORK - A major relic of the saint who is held up as the ideal of what a Catholic priest should be is set to visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral and other sites in the New York metropolitan area from April 4 to 11. The national relic pilgrimage is being sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.

New York, NY - Archbishop of New York Timothy Cardinal Dolan will be the principal celebrant for the Mass in honor of ST. PATRICK at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 8:30 AM.  The homilist will be Edward Cardinal O’Brien, ordained as a priest of the Archdiocese of New York who currently serves as Grand Master of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, and former Archbishop of Baltimore and the Military Services.

Cardinal Dolan presided over mass as worshipers, first responders, and local leaders all packed into St. Patrick’s Cathedral for the ceremony. The mass was immediately followed by the 258th annual parade, which started at 44th Street and marched all the way up to 79th Street, where it ended at the Irish-American Historical Society.
