This past Sunday, December 8, 2019, Cesar Garcia Jr., an Usher Supervisor here at St. Patrick's Cathedral, was honored by Cardinal Dolan and Monsignor Ritchie with a recognition award for his Quick Action. On April 17, 2019 Cesar stopped a potentially dangerous situation involving gas tanks and lighter fluid. His alertness and swift action led to the apprehension by the NYPD of an emotionally disturbed individual intending to do serious harm inside the Cathedral. This award was presented with extreme gratitude to Cesar Garcia Jr. who was accompanied by his family.
